time off

today, i woke up and sat outside while it
threatened to rain. i drank my coffee
and read my book while glenn did his internet
errands and we sat in silence.
it's been nice.

i've finished a book and voraciously
read to the halfway point of the next.

i ate a hotdog, and texted a best friend
i haven't talked to since february.

yesterday, i tried to save my mother's job.

i took photos. i bought cigarettes.

i had a legitimate conversation with someone
with whom the majority of our correspondence is
asinine.

i got my hair done.
i said i thought it was too short,
but really i thought it was too serious.

i'm searching for productivity in the most
unproductive time of my life.
i'll let you know when it starts to work.
