i've run away from home

i ran away to my cottage this weekend.
it's been completely redone and i haven't
been here since 2003. it looks amazing, so much
open space and many screened porches and decks.
i brought my bike. take your bike for a whip in
the country if you need some release. it works.
trust me.
i finally got batteries for my pentax and we're
up and rolling again as well. i broke through my panic
wall regarding my thesis and started the revisions,
im almost half done.
i'm getting the quiet, alone, "breath of fresh air"
time that i needed more than i thought.
i feel revitalized and ready.
i'll take some photos of this place and upload them
when i get back in town tomorrow.
(apparently we have a hot tub and the internet here.
this place is magical.)

it felt good.

yesterday

a few things:

- if planning to ride your bike down McMillian,

don't. it smells like garbage.

- if planning to ride your bike down Furby,

don't. it smells strangely like petting zoo.

- for the first time i ate food court asian

food that i actually thoroughly enjoyed.

- i was nose to book page for too long and

still feel like i've been under water for hours.

- i was planning on leaving my bible (i have for class)

in my bike basket to see if anyone would take

it as a social experiment, but i realized that i

personally would be more inclined to fuck with a bike

with a bible in it than one without.

-riding your bike in a dress downtown during rush hour

is only a good idea in principle.

- i'm going to see Neil Diamond.

- i'm excited for my 7am bike ride today

(even though it is to my exam for which i am doomed).

- i had a very good weekend and will write about it

later when i should be working on my thesis.

deadline cuts

my advisor just cut two weeks off of my deadline
for my thesis because apparently my secondary
has decided to take a vacation and wants
it earlier. this means that the final draft
of my thesis is due in just over two weeks.

this is next to impossible.
cue: panic attack.

last night i had a very vivid dream that
i was pregnant and my water broke and
i was going into labor.

...then i woke up to my baby
niece in my bed.

talk about traumatizing!

contacts

two days ago i got contacts for the first time.
i didn't think i was a squeemish person
until i fainted and almost barfed when the doctor
put them in my eyes. apparently i have issues with
that. what sucks is that i know that with practice
i'll be able to actually use the things, but it takes
a few days for your eyes to see with them, and i'm
virtually blind when i wear them, and i don't
know about you but i kind of need my sight
to function. oh well. i'll figure something
out.

also, does anyone know how to put
music on here? because i have an amazing
song for you.

tonight i'm going to a show at the albert
and i highly recommend not to get the
ranch chicken burger from Moxies.

sex and the city

i've been sitting here for the past 2 hours
trying to write a paper arguing that family
institutions have evolved via natural selection
as a way of aiding in survival. however i've just
written an intro, and spent the rest of the time
creeping on people's blogs.

i'm toying with the idea of quitting smoking.
this could be just because i feel like
i've swallowed razorblades today.

i'm naked on the internet again.
well not NAKED, but scantily clad. it's from
a photoshoot i did in july last year and i forgot
about the nekkid part (until it resurfaced on
my facebook).

i'm curled up on a leather couch by a window
not doing the work i came here to do, but listening
to phoenix and feeling pretty good about everything.
i'm having a good hair day too.
i want to go to montreal.
i want to play the tambourine.
i want to take more photos.

lazy eye

i just wrote an exam about somatic complaints
in the Japanese regarding Depression(among other things).
then i discovered that a former love of bacon
no longer exists.

now im drinking green tea at a computer in
a corner, not studying for my massive exam
tomorrow night, and not prepping for my performance
exam in a few hours.

typical.

there's also a crazy man sitting across from
me talking to himself. he has a lazy eye.
it makes me nervous.

night fever.

we all wish that i stopped listening to
the Bee Gees two posts ago but it hasn't happened
yet. i'm still swooning over their
chest hair and medallions.

i have to go ruin my sunny saturday now by
studying culture in psychology and world religions.

of here lately?

internet.

My internet at home is being lame and not

working, therefore i haven't been able to post

about any of my awesome adventures with brent.

i'll do it later i promise.

it just sucks because i'm sitting at school and it's

5:30 and i have to use the internet here to find

myself a monologue for an audition next week.

i'm auditioning to be in femfest which is

a feminist theater festival, as well as this

travelling troup that performs scenes etc. to teach

children about the negative effects of violence.

i'm turning back into a theater nerd again.

it's awesome! it makes me want to beat myself

up which is always a great alternative to partying

on a friday night.

also i get to pick up my film from that shoot today!

i'm having an exciting day today.

so last night i realized my wallet was missing.
it had birthday presents in it, tickets to
a show i was super excited to see,
my SIN card, my debit card, and my id's for everything.
thank god i took my credit card out the day before.
however today i called the security office
and someone had turned it in! everything was
still in it!!!

and this morning i had to drive my dad's jeep
and it only has a tape deck so i found some
of my old tapes and got to listen to Milli Vanilli
and the Bee Gee's on my morning drive.

this is turning out to be the best morning
ever!
